HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn opens “KUBOTA Farm” in Chonburi Province

                    Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of “KUBOTA Farm” in Ban Bueng District, Chonburi Province, where she was welcomed by the management and staff of SIAM KUBOTA Corporation Company Limited and Siam Cement Group Public Company Limited (SCG). KUBOTA Farm is a comprehensive experiential modern farm, covering over 220 rai of land. It was built with the goals of enhancing the region’s capacity for sustainable agricultural production, as well as allowing Thai farmers access to precision farming innovation.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of KUBOTA Farm” – the first experiential modern farm of ASEAN located in Ban Bueng District, Chonburi Province. On this occasion, Mr. Takanobu Azuma, President of SIAM KUBOTA Corporation, along with SIAM KUBOTA staff and executives from Siam Cement Group Public Company Limited (SCG), welcomed the Princess to the ceremony. Mr. Somsak Mauthorn, Senior Executive Vice President, SIAM KUBOTA Corporation, presented a report; while Mr. Phisanu Milintanuch, Executive Vice President General Sales, Marketing and Services Manager, received a commemorative pin from Her Royal Highness.

During the ceremony, H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn pressed the button to open the cloth covering “KUBOTA FARM” and Kaset Chaipat Building” sign boards and planted a Burma Padauk as a form of blessing. After the executives presented Her Royal Highness with a cash check, commemorative souvenirs, and KUBOTA agricultural machinery, the Princess proceeded to visit the exhibition inside the building before embarking on a royal trailer to sightsee around the KUBOTA Farm and signing on the guestbook.

Understanding how the growth of sustainable agricultural production plays an integral role towards the quality of life and the overall advancement of our country, SIAM KUBOTA developed KUBOTA Farm as an experiential modern farm and a learning center where farmers can observe the use of Agriculture Solutions and Machinery Solutions that can help optimize farming efficiency. Considered the first educational and practical farming experience in Southeast Asia, KUBOTA Farm consists of 9 different zones on an expansive 220-rai land.

Additionally, KUBOTA Farm has embraced the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, a royal initiative introduced by His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and created the New Theory Agriculture Zone to showcase land optimization management with new theory of farming and machinery solutions. Displayed in this zone are also cutting-edge technologies that can assist farmers in their approach towards New Theory Agriculture in order to eventually achieve 3 basic principles of life, namely self-sufficiency, contribution to others, and generating income by selling their cultivation products for a profit.

In the heart of the farm lies “Kaset Chaipat” exhibition building whose name was specially conferred by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, meaning “The source of success and agricultural prosperity.” The Princess also allowed the Farm to install Her Highness initials on the sign board. Inside, there is “King of Agriculture” Hall of Honor dedicated to the royal duties and royal projects of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. There are also exhibitions about the history of KUBOTA Farm, 360o LCD presentations detailing each zone in the Farm, IoT innovations such as KAS Crop Calendar Application and other agricultural solutions. The 9 zones of KUBOTA Farm are as follows:

Zone 1: KAS Consultant Zoneintroducing the background and concepts of comprehensive agriculture developed by Siam Kubota and offering consultancy to farmers.

Zone 2: Precision Rice Farm and Crop Rotation Zonedemonstrating rice precision farming with the help of various agricultural innovations. In this Zone, KUBOTA provides 5 farming solutions as follows, 1) Zero Broadcast introducing 3 rice planting methods which are indirect seeding, direct seeding, and dry seeding.; 2) GNSS the automatic direction control system.; 3) Agricultural drones; 4) KAS Crop Calendar; and 5) KUBOTA Intelligent Solutions (KIS) such as GPS telematics to help increase farming efficiency and productivity.

Zone 3: New Theory Agriculture Zonea model farming area demonstrating the royal initiative to optimize land management with new theory of farming and machinery solutions.

Zone 4: Para Rubber, Oil Palm and Fruits Zonedemonstrating the farming solutions to lower cost and increase productivity with the help of KUBOTA agricultural machinery.

Zone 5: Construction Zonedemonstrating KUBOTA machinery solutions for construction and professional farming businesses such as drilling a well.

Zone 6: Modern Field Crop Farm Zonedemonstrating modern farming for field crops, including cassava, sugarcane, and maize with precision farming concept of total process machinery usage and providing techniques to reduce cost and boost yields via total agricultural machinery, as well as methods and innovation for Zero Burn approach.

Zone 7: KAS Research Zone introducing R&D solutions and agricultural innovation, and cooperating with the Department of Land Development in the research to improve soil quality.

Zone 8: KAS Training Zoneproviding knowledge and practical training for farmers to apply to their land.

Zone 9: Innovation Experience Zonean area for farmers and any interested individuals to try and experience each KUBOTA machinery in order to find the right one for their land.
